Cowboys set to sign Rashaan Evans to practice squad, source says
The Dallas Cowboys are expected to sign linebacker Rashaan Evans to the practice squad after a workout. This move comes as linebacker Leighton Vander Esch is moved to injured reserve due to a neck injury. Vander Esch's history of neck issues will lead the Cowboys to be cautious in his return. Evans, a 2018 first-round pick, spent last season with the Atlanta Falcons and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason before being released from their practice squad. The Cowboys are thin at linebacker and may consider playing Micah Parsons in a different role. The team also has other linebackers and has used safeties in hybrid roles. The Cowboys may have more roster moves coming up due to injuries to other players.

Panthers waive Matt Corral as part of post-Matt Rhule purge
Quarterback Matt Corral has been released by the Carolina Panthers, becoming the latest member of former coach Matt Rhule's draft picks to be let go. Corral believed he was safe after the initial round of cuts to get to 53 players, but he was ultimately released. Overall, 13 of Rhule's 24 draft picks from 2020 to 2022 are no longer on the 53-man roster. Corral may be brought back as a practice squad member if he clears waivers and isn't signed by another team. New coach Frank Reich praised Corral's athleticism and strong arm.
